Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Clinton Email Investigation JULY 1, 2016
Attorney General Loretta Lynch spoke with Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post at the Aspen Ideas Festival. She explained her decision to meet with former President Bill Clinton in Phoenix in late June, and her intention to accept the findings and recommendations made by the team conducting the federal investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state.
First off, there's a lot of laughter, especially in the beginning, but again throughout the interview when the awkward tarmac meeting is mentioned (from interviewer, LL and the audience). At around 8 minutes in, Loretta Lynch is asked if, according to a NYTimes article;
Back in April 'career officials' were already looking into Hillary's email situation. At that time, had you already decided to just accept their determination (before the infamous tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton)? To which she replies; Yes. They go on to discuss Criminal Justice Reform activities she is involved in. At the end of the interview, Capehart asks LL: What did Eric Holder not tell you about this job? What do you wish Eric Holder had told you about the job? LL replies (to much laughter); Where the lock on the plane door was. hehehehehahahaha JC replies; Good Answer!
