‘Profit Off The President’: White House Blasts Marie Yovanovitch Book Deal

Former Ukraine diplomat Marie Yovanovitch secured a book deal, the Associated Press reported Friday, leading to criticism from the White House.

Yovanovitch is writing a memoir that has yet to get a title and will be published through Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, according to the Associated Press. Yovanovitch played a central role in President Donald Trump’s impeachment proceedings, testifying in Congress that Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani led a “smear campaign” that led to her eventual firing.

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham told the Daily Caller the book deal is “Yet another example of a civil servant trying to personally profit off the President. Lets not forget this is a woman the media painted as a victim, and the democrats hailed as a hero who was motivated solely by patriotism. Not even a month later and she has a book deal? It’s self-serving, and I venture to say her motives will not be questioned by anyone in the mainstream media.”

Three US aircraft shot down during World War II have been found 76 years later

The downed aircraft include two SBD-5 Dauntless dive bombers and one TBM/F-1 Avenger torpedo bomber, according to the University of Delaware.

The last time anyone saw these military aircraft, US forces were pummeling Japanese targets in the western Pacific during World War II.

"Operation Hailstone" in February 1944 was a decisive victory for the US. But it came at a cost to American forces – 40 service members were killed and more than 20 aircraft were lost.

Teen accident victim's family call for UK to block Julian Assange's US extradition

The family of a British teenager killed in a road accident involving the wife of a American diplomat in August 2019 has called for the UK government to block the extradition of Julian Assange to the US, unless Washington agrees to send Anne Sacoolas in the opposite direction.

Radd Seiger, lawyer and spokesman for the family of Harry Dunn, said the US has "launched the single greatest attack on the so-called special relationship between the countries in modern memory" by declining the UK's requests to extradite Sacoolas, who is accused of causing Dunn's death while driving on the wrong side of the road last August.
