The men carrying pistols and burning cars, gas stations and whatnot, are mostly Muslims who are protesting CAA - Citizenship Amendment Act
and the possibility of an NRC - National Register of Citizenship coming some time in the future.
But they are all stupid, illiterate fucks who don't even know, and haven't even read, the CAA!
CAA simply grants quicker Indian citizenship (6 years stay in India instead of 11 years previously) to migrants from India's neighboring countries who were minorities in their original countries and having been subjected to atrocities there due to their minority status came to India in search of peace, acceptance and citizenship. Since most of India's neighboring countries are Muslim - the minorities in those countries are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians, Jains, Jews, and NOT Muslims. The CAA specifically mentions all these religions except Islam. The Muslims of India are calling CAA as being anti-muslim (just because it doesn't mention "Muslim" - these dumb idiots!) and precursor to throwing Muslims out of India and hence these absolute illiterate idiots are protesting CAA ever since it has come into force.
Anyway, CAA is NOT anti-muslim, it is PRO-migrants who were minorities in the countries they were born in.
These people's opinion about CAA is completely false and stupid. CAA is about GIVING citizenship, not taking it. fucking idiots!
NRC - IF it comes - is going to ask every Indian to show proof of their citizenship.
which I agree is going to be next to impossible for almost every Indian. BUT the Indian govt. has not even announced the NRC yet; just "some talks in the political avenues of the country."
I personally don't think NRC will ever come - but if it does, I assume the "papers to be shown to prove their Indian citizenship" would include normal IDs like the UID Aadhar Card, the voter ID, DL, passport, Ration card, any real estate property registry papers, et al.
It is my assessment that these protests are a result of terrorist funding being done from Pakistan, who want India to burn because last year India's parliament removed Articles 370 and 35A which granted special status to the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Since the Kashmiris have accepted the removal of the articles peacefully, Pakistan believes their chances of taking Kashmir away from India in the future have gone down drastically.
