Assata's "girlfriend" died
An American terrorist linked to Joanne Chesimard, aka Assata Shakur, dies in Cuba
"At her birth, her name was Cheri Laverne Dalton. But to the cadre of gun-toting revolutionaries, including Joanne Chesimard, who left a trail of blood across America in the 1970s and to her compatriots more recently in Cuba where she sought refuge, she was Nehanda Abiodun."
Dalton died last month at her home near Havana.
She was 68.
She was also still a fugitive from U.S. justice.

Joanne Chesimard, center who was indicted in the May 2nd slaying of state trooper Werner Foerster in a shootout on the NJ Turnpike, is transferred to Middlesex County jail from the county workhouse in North Brunswick in 1973.
