Amazon tells Sanders and Warren that warehouse workers can pee whenever they want

Amazon stayed on the defensive in a response to United States senators about its warehouse working conditions on Friday, disputing claims that its workers can’t take bathroom breaks when they need to and calling on politicians who haven’t visited an Amazon fulfillment center to take the company up on its offer of a tour.

Amazon also said it is “exploring the best way to make information about Amazon’s safety record public,” but argued that worker injury records submitted to the US Department of Labor contain “private and sensitive” details such as worker names and injury descriptions that are treated as confidential.

Emergency rate cuts won't be enough to save the unstable stock market, top market strategist warns

Traders are boosting their bets on central banks cutting rates as coronavirus deaths spike, but such policy won't do much for stock markets, Seema Shah, chief investment strategist at Principal Global Investors, said Monday.

Rate cuts primarily strengthen borrowing and, in turn, demand. Such policy won't insulate markets "against supply-side concerns," Shah wrote in an emailed statement.

Investors should pivot to protecting their portfolios and avoid buying stocks at lower prices, she added, as markets have already demonstrated "over-complacent" behavior toward coronavirus news.

Hillary Clinton Apologized to FBI Over Emails, But It Was Not Recorded on FBI Interview Document

We keep digging into the chain of events surrounding the FBI’s non-investigation of Hillary Clinton and her email misconduct. The correspondence between Peter Strzok and his lover Lisa Page is proving to be a treasure trove.

We have now received 191 pages of emails between former FBI official Strzok and former FBI attorney Page that include an August 26, 2016, email in which Strzok says that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in her interview with the FBI about her email controversy, apologized for “the work and effort” it caused the bureau and saying she chose to use it “out of convenience” and that “it proved to be anything but.”

Strzok said Clinton’s apology and the “convenience” discussion were “not in” the FBI 302 report which summarized the interview.

The emails also suggest that Strzok had information on an intelligence briefing for then-candidate Trump that may have been a ruse to spy on Trump.

The emails are the latest production from our January 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed after the DOJ failed to respond to a December 2017 request for all communications between Strzok and Page (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-00154)).

The FBI is processing the records at a rate of only 500 pages per month and has refused to process text messages. At this rate, the production of these communications won’t be completed until late 2021.

According to the latest federal candidate financial information obtained by Fox News, 781 Republicans have filed paperwork to run for the House alone in the 2020 cycle, marking “the most ever recorded in an odd year at the Federal Election Commission.”

In 2017, 593 Republican candidates filed to run for the House compared to the astounding 937 Democrats. The Democrat party, which set new records for the number of candidates who filed to run for office during the last cycle, took control of the House the following year.

Assange fight draws in Trump's new intel chief

Attorneys for Julian Assange, who is fighting a U.S. extradition request on espionage and computer hacking charges, plan to introduce evidence in the WikiLeaks founder’s extradition hearing involving President Donald Trump’s new intel chief Richard Grenell.

Gareth Peirce, a lawyer representing Assange in his extradition proceedings in London, plans to argue this week that the process to try to extradite her client was abused from early on. Representatives for Assange’s defense team say they expect to introduce recordings and screenshots of communications of a close Grenell associate, including a secondhand claim that Grenell was acting on the president’s orders.

Ninth Circuit Court Rules Trump Admin Stripping Funding From Abortion Clinics Is Constitutional

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that the Trump administration can continue stripping federal funding from clinics that offer abortions.

The court upheld the Trump administration’s June 2019 declaration that taxpayer-funded clinics must stop referring women for abortions or be stripped of their Title X funding.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) followed the decision in June by alerting clinics that it would enforce the administration’s ban. Planned Parenthood withdrew from the Title X federal family planning program, thereby forgoing about $60 million a year, in August 2019 rather than comply with this decision.

Foreign Leaders Restrained in Gifts to Trump, Family Last Year

Foreign leaders appear to have scaled back their generosity when it comes to gifts given to President Donald Trump, his family and top officials.

That's according to an accounting of official presents to the first family and senior Trump administration officials posted to the Federal Register website Monday. The list shows that Trump, his wife, Melania, his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner reported receiving $88,420 worth of gifts from foreign leaders in 2018. That's down from more than $140,000 they reported in 2017.

As in 2017, Melania Trump received the single most valuable item on the list. This year it was a set of six Nymphenburg porcelain plates valued at $23,000 from the sheikh of Qatar. She also received two decorative chairs from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi estimated to be worth $10,000, a $4,200 bed cover from the Uzbek president, a set of candle prickets valued at $1,010 from Jordan's queen and a $1,280 clutch from the Belgian prime minister's partner.
