It's the only thing they know. It's always worked for them before. It worked for their fathers and forefathers going back centuries. They are facing for the first time something they thought they had killed long ago TRUTH.
They don't recognize it. Just because their audience aren't believing them doesn't mean anything to them They think, like all psychopaths, that someone else is pushing propaganda better than them.
They'll get it one day. But it will be way too late for them. Meanwhile, they got to keep doubling down.
