Expand Your Thinking Anon here. For those who have been absorbing all the links and images regarding Patton Oswalt, with all the convenient indicators suggesting he is a raging pedophile and will soon be taken down, well, consider the following: What if the pointing toward Patton Oswalt as a pedo by Q is a deliberate misdirection? What if there's more to the story? In fact, what if the exact opposite suggested about him is true?

In a "think mirror" world, what if Patton has been working to help identify and expose Hwood pedophile rings? It's the perfect double spy setup. Aligned solidly with the influential top tier of the Hwood comedy world, with connections deep into all aspects of the creation of entertainment content, the money swirling around it, plus all the behind the scenes movers, shakers and handlers, I can't think of a better setup for an op.

The guy also has a brilliant mind. Very smart, crafty, quippy, deep memory, eloquent. He is also a very nice person. I don't know of anyone who knew him had a bad thing to say about him. There were no Louis C.K. rumors swirling around him. OK, I'll come clean… I know the guy. I'm the anon who called out the LA comedy world a few weeks ago, charging them collectively with the death of Brody Stevens. By saying I know the guy, I am not suggesting we are close friends. However, I am close to his world, and we have spent a lot of time in each other's company, mingling with the same mutual associates.

Something has always seemed wrong to me about the suggestion he is a raging pedo. A couple things to consider: Patton is among the comics who developed what became known as alternative comedy. Throughout the 1990's a group of L.A. based comedians of like mind began packing around one another. They were known for their nerd tendencies, whip smart thinking, and finding comedy outside of mainstream comedy. In that alt world, no topic, pov, or delivery was off limits in the attempt to find laughs. For better or worse, pedophilia was one of the topics mined for laughter. So was racism, rape and genocide. The point was not to make fun of pedophilia, or dismiss child abuse, rather to use that taboo topic for laughs…if you could do it. That was the challenge.

Another aspect of alt comedy was that material crafted was not for dummies. To get much of the funny, you also had to be nerdy, smart, and with the ability to track more obscure references (Star Trek, Star Wars, film, music, tech, history…). So not all alt comedy was dark. Consider alt comics as the autists of the comedy world.

Mainstream audiences were not the target audience for alternative comedy. Other alt comedians were often the intended audience. To become a comedian's comedian was one of the goals in that alt comedy world, and Patton was among the reigning kings. In that "exclusive" alt comedy world, bonus if you could also craft mainstream comedy material (so you can earn a living on the road), and major kudos if you can find a way to work your alt comedy into your mainstream material and get laughs there too. Patton was able to do that. It didn't hurt that he was a walking cartoon. He just looks funny.

What if, because he was a small guy with a baby face, he was a victim of pedophilia as a boy and teen? What if he found it easy to identify pedos when he started working in Hollywood? What if they approached him one too many times? What if all that nudged him to privately dig on the topic with the intention to expose it? Married to a woman who understood the criminal mind, both of them digging into those unsolved murders, which eventually helped the police capture a serial killer? Coincidence?

What if he's a good guy? Have I expanded my thinking too far? Time will tell.
