It really does seem like a blackmail thing. It also associates the word "snitch" in the 1940s with a masonic building and while im sure its street lingo its interesting being used in this context in the 40's. And i also remember the fluid collection thing with the handkerchief. Its seen in a lot of sra drawings. It probably is for that.

I think its a street word but freemasons in the 1940's used such a word? That is what stands out the most.
