It's not just to get taxpayer money. It works inside organizations to get more budget allocations and it works to get more money from investors as well. But when you get into the development of the AI you see that it requires highly skilled PhD's to decide how to tune the neural networks, simulated annealing and deep learning algorithms, and then more PhDs to analyze the results to see if any patterns that are detected are statistically significant. In the end you get some code that works for narrow use cases but nobody is sure why. If this was a human being instead of code, we would be talking about an IDIOT SAVANT, not using the word INTELLIGENT.
