Politicians, including former Conservative PM Margaret Thatcher, police and prosecutors “turned a blind eye” to allegations of child sexual abuse connected to Westminster and ignored victims, an independent inquiry has found.

The 173-page report compiled by the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse dismissed claims of a conspiracy involving an “organised Westminster pedophile network,” but did reveal serious cover-ups by British institutions. The review was published on Tuesday following hearings over the past two years.

The investigation, which went into allegations dating as far back as the 1960s, concluded that “political parties showed themselves, even very recently, to be more concerned about political fallout than safeguarding.” It goes on to say that the honors system “prioritized reputation” over the welfare of victims of the nominated persons.

The findings may prove to be uncomfortable reading for PM Boris Johnson. As recently as March last year, Johnson told LBC radio that money was being "spaffed up the wall" on historical child abuse investigations.

Our new space neighbour was discovered on February 15 by astronomers at Arizona's Catalina Sky Survey.

And it's one of just a handful of Earthly "mini moons" ever discovered.

The news was announced the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center, which flags up smaller space objects.

"The object is temporarily bound to the Earth," astronomers at the MPC said.

"No evidence of perturbations due to solar radiation pressure is seen, and no link to a known artificial object has been found.

"Further observations and dynamical studies are strongly encouraged."

We don't know exactly how big it is yet – but astronomers estimate it's roughly six to 12 feet.

That's based on sunlight reflected from the object, allowing for a guess at its possible size.

The Moon is Earth's only major natural satellite, but that doesn't mean we're all alone in our quiet corner of space.

A small natural object named 2006 RH120 was confirmed to have entered a temporary Earth orbit during 2006 and 2007.

And 2020 CD3 appears to be the second example of this kind of scenario.

Stock markets in the three countries with the most coronavirus cases are all up today. It can’t be just because of central bank action. At this point, why a certain country is up by wide margins on a bad coronavirus news day is anybody’s guess. Someone said the sky is blue and the birds are singing. Buy it!

China, home to more than 78,000 hospitalized Covid-19 patients, is up 1.65% based on the XTrackers China CSI-300 A-Shares (ASHR) exchange traded fund.

South Korea, where 1,261 people are hospitalized with the bug, is up 2.06% as measured by the MSCI South Korea Index.

Italy, which has become the European hub of the outbreak and now has 322 people who have tested positive for Covid-19, is up 2.69% based on the MSCI Italy, even as two Italy states face travel restrictions. Automakers there are now worried about the supply chain ramifications.
