Because with the vote/country divided essentially 50-50, then any persuadable group becomes the swing voters. Meaning they can swing the win to one side or the other.
The black vote has not been in play for decades because they have been lied to and manipulated by the Dems. They are waking up and now the Dems see that losing them could be devastating. No longer a 50-50 divide.
The Dems took black people for granted and did things to keep them down. Trump has lowered the black unemployment rate, worked on prison reform, and is building the wall to stop giving services to non-citizens before we take care of our own. Black people are witnessing that.
Of course that's true.
