Well, they are definitely turning on each other.

But that is the nature of political debates.

 

Look at Hillary vs Obama in 2008

Look at Trump debating in 2016 against Ted Cruz and all of the others.

 

Then after the election, it is all put behind them.

POTUS said at a couple of rallies that he released the Pocahontas info. re her DNA too early. So maybe he has some more dirt on her that he would wait to release if she was nominated.

I've considered doing this.

Vote in the opponent's primary for their weakest candidate.

I would think that the Dems. do the same thing.

It's all politics.

I've never done it though, bc it never seemed worth the bother.

There is a reason for proper grammar.

It is to convey information properly.

It is probably more important in writing, than in speech though. In speech, if you are getting your point across to the person listening, then mission accomplished.
