I was trying to explain to a bernie supporter that even if he got elected, there would be very little chance that he could fulfill one, let alone all of the promises that he has made, and that the reason he can make such bold promises is because he is running to get rich (no refunds), and has no intention of becoming the president.
This was met with the "deer in the head lights" eyes.
