Was Ted Cruz's father a US Citizen at the time of Ted Cruz's birth? If so, and his mother was also a US citizen at the time of his birth, then Ted Cruz is a Natural Born US Citizen, no matter "where" he was born.

Obama's father was not a US citizen at the time of Obama's birth (or ever, for that matter), so even though his mother was a US citizen at the time of his birth, he father wasn't. Therefore, Obama IS a US Citizen, but he IS NOT a Natural Born US Citizen. Where he was born makes no difference. Whether he was born in Hawaii, or Kenya, or on the Moon doesn't matter.

The criteria for becoming POTUS is that you must be a NATURAL BORN US CITIZEN, not just a US Citizen.

Keep in mind, natural born does not mean born on US soil, it means that both of your parents were US Citizens at the time of your birth.

Whoever made Obama's fake birth certificate should have put "father unknown" then it would be a non issue. The problem is that Obama had already written that book about his father.

If the father is unknown on the birth certificate then, my opinion would be, that it would be ok for that person to be POTUS. But who anticipates that their child is going to be POTUS at the time of their birth and purposely puts "father unknown"?

Single moms, who had a sperm donor; maybe that's something that the courts should think about BEFORE it becomes a POTUS issue in the future. And lots of women have multiple sexual encounters and get pregnant and really don't know who the father is.

With DNA testing now, of course, it's easier to tell who the real baby daddy is.

Used to be Mommy's baby and Daddy's maybe, so lots of dads ended up raising some other guy's kid as their own. I guess that would be kinda like adopting a kid without really knowing it. The kid would have the same last name as the woman's husband and life would go on.

But in Obama's case. His dad was not a US Citizen at the time of his birth, so he is not a Natural Born US Citizen.

Correct

It doesn't matter where he as born.

I don't understand why people have such a hard time with this concept.

I remember learning this in High School Civics.

But then that was in the 1970s.

Maybe the public is purposely being made confused about this.
