people are inherently evil. Some are forgiven, many long for the One True God's perfect heart, but we're all still fallen.

if we aren't all "filled with darkness" why do we need salvation? God-the-Son ''died'' to pay for our sins.
I haven't seen anything to imply otherwise; we can't make it to heaven, or even speak to the king of the universe on our own merit.
