Thinking for myself. If baby isn’t made, no chance for a poor soul to end up in hell. There are all sorts of stories to reconcile this, including pre-existence and verses about your household all being saved with you, and God will wipe away the tear of your family in hell or erase their memory. Anon, this is what turns me off to religion. It’s the desire to inflict punishment on non believers or the wicked, deferring it to their merciful but vengeful God. This inevitably gets wrapped up in tribalism and has evolved into psychological violence, since the law doesn’t allow this slapping activity you desire.
