Cyber libel is a criminal offense in Phillipines law.

Libel is a civil offense in American law.

And for an American court to have jurisdiction, the offense has to have a connection to the USA โ€“ typically where one or both parties live, or where the servers were located when the offense occurred.

"Moving the case to USA" is probably not a slam dunk at all.

Cases in other countries don't set precedents for US courts, either. (At least I hope not! That's what removing US from the international tribunal was all about, to NOT create such precedents.)
