I have to look at the Grenell move and the Defender 2020 (Reforger 2.0 ?) being connected to this.
Erdogan has been just shaking the EU down with a threat of releasing Syrian migrants. The Germans are not going to accept a refugee wave with the current pandemic threat, and the US has it's bases to protect.
It may very well be that the US/NATO forces are going to be used to secure the German and/or vulnerable NATO allies' borders.
Have to watch this.
