Trump campaign chief predicts record-breaking re-election bid

MARYLAND — President Trump’s re-election bid is shaping up to be a record-breaking, data-driven behemoth, with more voter contact information than any political campaign in history, his campaign manager said Friday.

—Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale unveiled the huge operation which will confront the eventual Democratic nominee in an address at the Conservation Political Action Conference, an annual gathering of conservatives here on Thursday.

—“We have so many social channels and the ability to talk to people. Even Obama at the end of his presidency, the size of his list was the biggest ever of direct contacts with 18 million people,” he said.

—“The president’s list by election day should be over 50 million. This is the largest direct contact list probably in political history by far and one of the largest in the country other than maybe a couple of commercial companies.”

—Trump’s 2016 campaign was renowned for being a scrappy outfit with a shoestring budget but in 2020 is harnessing an enormous amount of voter data, including from the tens of thousands of people who attend his political rallies.

—Parscale said the campaign had access to more than 200 million people on social media and was building an army of volunteers which would help them win back the states of Minnesota, New Mexico, New Hampshire and Nevada.

—“In 2016, we had about 600,000 volunteers. We will have 2 million trained volunteers for 2020,” he said. “We don’t even have a candidate to run against yet.”

—Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has built a well-funded $132 million campaign through small single-dollar donations, disavowing money from wealthy donors and political action committees.

—Parscale was bullish about Trump’s re-election prospects and said Sanders’s strategy would fail if he became the nominee.

—“We only lost in Minnesota by a small amount and if you look at what’s happening with Latinos across the country, they’re coming in huge waves to the president and now New Mexico is in play,” he said.

—“You’re going to see new states comes into play because America is going to wake up and say ‘This isn’t what I believe in.’ This crazy progressive wave running toward their small dollar fundraising will not work across America, especially flyover country.”

-Republicans are gearing up for a fight against Sanders, a Democratic socialist who is expected to nab an insurmountable number of delegates in Super Tuesday races like Texas and California next week.

-The Trump 2020 campaign is prepared, said Parscale. “We built it to compete against any of them.”

De Blasio donor Jona Rechnitz accused of $1M scam in California

A second California man has accused corrupt Mayor Bill de Blasio donor Jona Rechnitz of swindling him out of more than $1 million, The Post has learned.

Sam Israel Gorodistian said in a lawsuit filed earlier this week in Los Angeles that he lent Rechnitz a total of $1,573,333 in what the convicted scam artist assured him was a short-term loan opportunity to collect some interest on the cash.

Rechnitz told Gorodistian that, as part of his jewelry business, he and his wife lend money to customers, loans which are secured by the borrowers putting up jewelry as collateral.

The loans, Rechnitz allegedly told Gorodistian, were made possible by outside lenders, who would collect monthly interest payments.

Gorodistian agreed to be one of those lenders in June 2019 — not knowing Rechnitz had bribed a corrupt New York City union official — and lent Rechnitz the more than $1 million sum in a total of six payments, the lawsuit alleges.

When none of the loans was repaid, Gorodistian had several conversations with Rechnitz and his father, Robert, and they repeatedly told him the funds would be reimbursed, according to the suit.

After months of non-repayment, Rechnitz’s lawyer eventually spoke with Gorodistian and told him he would not be getting the money back, the suit states.

The scheme is similar to one Rechnitz allegedly pulled on Victor Franco Noval, who accused the fraudster of bilking him out of millions by offering a $400,000 Bugatti sports car and millions of dollars in diamonds as collateral…
