Jared Kushner: Donald Trump Not Adapting to Washington; ‘He’s Forcing Washington to Adapt to Him

President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Friday, praising the president’s success in Washington despite historic attempts in D.C. to fight his agenda.

Kushner told the CPAC audience that he noted that after taking office, President Trump did not get a “honeymoon period,” as Washington already hated him. He asserted that it ultimately worked in Trump’s favor.

We need a strong domestic manufacturing base here. We should be making stuff here in America. That’s very important,” he said. “The second is that you need to control your borders so that you know who’s coming in and out of your country.”

Kushner also praised Trump for changing the country with real leadership and said that support for him is only growing.

“A lot of politicians follow the polls,” he said. “He actually brings the polls to his positions; he can really change polls.”

Trump’s net favorability rating from RealClearPolitics, he said, went from an average of 37.5 percent on Election Day to higher than 46 percent today.

“The more the president’s been attacked, the more people realize what he’s fighting for. … They love that he’s fighting for them,” Kushner said. “When they see Washington fighting against him, most people don’t like Washington, so they like the fact that he’s fighting against Washington.”

Kushner said that if elected to a second term, Trump would be far more successful as he continues to change Washington.

He compared this to how President Trump’s chaotic first presidential campaign worked versus his reelection campaign.

“There’s no leaks. There’s no drama. I would say it’s high competence, low drama. Everything is very efficiently run, and I think that that’s exemplary of how President Trump would run his second term in office,” he said.

CPAC: Mike Pompeo Mocks Predecessor John Kerry’s Preference for European Cocktail Parties

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo mocked his predecessor John Kerry on Friday for the amount of time he spent in Europe attending fancy parties.

“You should know that different secretaries kind of roll different,” he said. “I’m not in it for the fancy dinners in Paris, or Switzerland, or Vienna.”

He added, “I’ve only been to those places twice during my time on the job. One of my predecessors went 62 times,” he continued as the audience laughed. “That, my friends, is a lot of cocktails

Pompeo spoke at CPAC on Friday, after meeting with President Donald Trump earlier in the day.

Pompeo also joked about Kerry’s visit to Antarctica in 2016. “I don’t know who he was negotiating with there,” he said as the crowd laughed.

Pompeo said he preferred to spend his time in areas where his staff was struggling, such as those based in countries like China, Kabul, and Baghdad.

“I’d rather go be with my team in tough places, places that present hardship to the young men and women who serve as diplomats all across the world,” he said.

Pompeo said he appreciated the opportunity to work with a practical and realistic president, but also with a president that demanded strength and results.

“No foreign policy that is built on fantasy ever works, that’s what we’ve had to correct in our time,” he said, referring to past administration efforts.

He cited the Iran nuclear deal and the Paris climate accord as examples of failed efforts in former President Barack Obama’s administration and praised Trump for successfully replacing bad foreign trade deals.

‘The point is changing behavior, not signing documents,” he said.

Pompeo also criticized former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s belief that abortion was a human right.

“President Trump understands deeply that abortion isn’t a human right. It takes a human life.”

Pompeo praised Trump’s success at fighting terrorism, challenging Iran, fighting terrorists, and keeping the country safe.

“Wherever I go, working for president Trump, people tug on my sleeves, they want to meet me,” he said. “They want to meet me not because I’m Mike from Kansas, but because I represent the greatest country in the history of civilization.”

Nolte: Polls Show Elizabeth Warren Losing Her Home State Tuesday

Would anything make Super Tuesday more super than Elizabeth Warren losing her home state of Massachusetts?

That’s a rhetorical question because the answer is obviously no, nothing would make Super Tuesday more super than Elizabeth Warren losing her home state.

Well, according to the polling coming out of Massachusetts, everyone’s favorite fake Cherokee, the serial-lying Warren, is down by a few points in her home state to Jurassic Marxist — and Massachusetts goes to the polls in just four days.

Since February 12, there have been three polls out of Massachusetts, and all three teehee show Warren losing. The first two have her down by only one and two points, but the most recent one has her down by eight.

The RealClearPolitics average in the poll of polls has Sanders in first place at 23.7 percent — a 3.7-point lead over Lieawatha who sits at just 20 points. Mean Little Mayor Pete Buttigieg (14.3), Burisma Joe Biden (11.7), and Mini Mike Bloomberg (11.3) are all trailing.

The best case scenario for Warren is that she squeaks out a win, but when you’re talking about your own state, a squeaker is not a win; it’s a humiliation. Just ask Marco Rubio about that.

Now try to contain yourself while imagining Pocahontas losing her home state just three days after she’s wiped out in South Carolina on Saturday, where she is currently in teehee fifth place, with just eight percent support.

Available polling in the other Super Tuesday states is just as dismal for Warren. She’s in second place in delegate-rich California but still waaaayyy behind Bernie, 32 to 16 percent.

In Texas, she’s in third place with just 15 percent support. Bernie and Biden top her with 22.3 and 21 points, respectively.

Maine Couple Open President Trump-Themed Coffee

A couple opened a patriotic coffee and gift shop in honor of President Trump last week in Rockland, Maine.

Owner Jestin Merchant said he wanted Covfefe Coffee and Gifts to be a place where customers can openly show their support for the president, according to the Bangor Daily News.

“From a business standpoint there really isn’t anything else like this out there,” explained Merchant, who runs the shop with his wife, Carrie.

“I recognized the need in this area, that there should be a spot where people can come and support Trump and not feel like they’re strange or different because they do support the president,” he stated.

February 10, the couple told reporters of their intent to open the shop at 325 Old County Road where they flew a Trump 2020 flag outside the building.

The Merchant’s coffee is from Thrasher Coffee Co., a Georgia-based company that is not shy about its support for the president.

“When you order from Thrasher Coffee, you’re going to enjoy such a freshly roasted cup it will make you glad all over again that you woke up another day in Trump Nation,” the company’s about page read.

With names like MAGA, The Don, #45 Blend, and Border Blend, it is no wonder the Merchant’s coffee shop has done so well. They also sell MAGA hats, bumper stickers, and books by conservative commentators like Ann Coulter.

“I was amazed by the amount of support,” Merchant noted, adding, “People from all over the state of Maine are coming out of the woodworks in support of this.”

“We’re not looking to offend or be mean-spirited. You may not support Trump or you may not support his ideas, but I guarantee there is probably someone in your family who does and they would love to have a Trump gift,” he stated.

Facebook users have left several positive reviews on the shop’s page.

“I stopped in & had a nice chat with the owner, & purchased a cup of the #45 coffee. The coffee was very good, & I will definitely go back!” wrote Susan Dancer Batty.

“I will make sure I have a few extra cups of coffee and leave a nice tip. I’m sure it will be awesome,” user John Perry wrote prior to the shop’s opening.

Merchant said even though he only planned to keep the business open for a year, he might keep it going longer by changing the theme if the president is not reelected in November.

Pew Survey: The Democrat Party Has a Serious God Problem

Americans do not consider the leading contenders for the Democrat presidential nomination to be very religious, reveals a new survey from the Pew Research Center.

Asked how they view the religiosity of four of the top contenders — Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren — fewer than ten percent said they see any of these as “very religious,” Pew found.

Just three percent said that Elizabeth Warren is very religious, while four percent said the same of Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg (despite the latter’s frequent Bible quoting). The largest portion (nine percent) of Americans view Joe Biden as very religious.

In the case of Bernie Sanders, the current front-runner for the nomination, a significant majority of Americans (60 percent) believe he is “not too” or “not at all” religious.

This most recent Pew report underscores the Democrats’ continuing “God problem,” a phenomenon that seems to be growing more acute with the years.

Last fall, Pew revealed that more than twice as many Americans view the Democrat Party as “unfriendly” toward religion than the Republican Party, while fewer than one in five U.S. adults said the Democrats are “friendly” toward religion.

Pew found that nearly a third (31 percent) of all U.S. adults believe that the Democrat Party is actually unfriendly to religion, while only 13 percent said the same of the Republican Party. On the other hand, 54 percent of Americans said that the Republican Party is friendly to religion, while only 19 percent said the same of the Democrats

In a similar vein, Catholic League president Bill Donohue noted last October that the Democrat debate has grown openly hostile toward people of faith, which reveals itself in the candidates’ severity in dealing with religious freedom issues.

It is clear that “none of the Democratic candidates wants to be tagged as religion-friendly,” he declared.

The Democrats’ growing antipathy toward religion is most evident in their attacks on “traditional religious exemptions in law,” Donohue observed, which have existed since the nation’s founding and up until recently were “considered uncontroversial.”
