The problem in the US (and other countries) is that all 3 branches of government were corrupted and infiltrated to a level so bad, (and a clown president as a safeguard) that it was impossible to:

get criminals indicted

get honest bills passed

get criminals convicted.
As all 3 sides held the power, they made long term planns save guarding their power. Think no term limits. Think changes to voting. Think roll out of propaganda news. Think curbing of free speech. Think controlled and planned indoctrination through education system. Think weaponized intelligence agencies. Think weaponized IRS agencies. Think weaponized ambassadors.
