Yes, V important to sequence patient isolates, especially if they have unusual (more severe) symptoms. RNA viruses are well known to mutate - they make a "mistake" in the copy phase - DNA viruses not so much. Anyway, a mutation may make the virus less deadly or more so or be insignificant. It's important to check bc don't want a "new" modified version added by cabal friends.

Thought early on that CDC was sequences new isolates but can't find that info anywhere now.
