U.S. Special Representative Zalmay Khalilzad signed a deal with the head of the Taliban's negotiating team, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, that paves the way for eventual peace in Afghanistan.
The accord was signed in Doha, Qatar, where the two sides spent many months hashing out the agreement.
