He's not entirely wrong though, there are some really fucking impressively clueless old people out there. My favorite was this guy talking about how he made $17k a year in the 70s like that meant the same thing it does these days.

A shitty house on a tiny lot costs $200,000. A car costs $15-30,000 and they don't last like they used to. $3-10,000 if you buy used, with something that will probably have a major drivetrain failure by 100,000 miles. You can't even get a can of sardines for a dollar anymore.
