In 1972 minimum wage was $1.60 per hour

In 1973 The Yom Kippur war caused the OPEC oil embargo and gas went from $.29 to $.50 a gallon overnight.

Wages did not rise. Jobs evaporated.

$1.60 x 40 hours = $64.00 a week or $277 a month. Rent was $265 and car payment was $86 oh and yes I bought gas to get to work and of course I ate (lots of mac & cheese) + worked another job for survival.

What an absolute mongowhat? Seriously. Again the gas was $.50 a gallon as was the beer. Hee fkn haw mofo
