There's a significant generational cutoff between those who can remember a time before the digital era (and it's control of our lives) those who can't. I'm near the cutoff, I can remember tape cassettes, paper catalogs, no one having a cell phone, having to rewind VHS tapes ect. But someone only a few years younger than me can't even remember a time before smart phones. It creates a weird divide where I usually feel like I have more in common with someone who's 50 than I do someone who's 20. It's quite bizarre and I suppose it's more noticeable if you're around my age, but kids only 5-7 years younger than me consider me an old man.
Pic related is another good example of this. Before my time, but I know who he was, what he did and how he died. Whereas someone not even 5 years younger than me would go "Who's that? Is that picture from the 50s?"
He's an completely incompetent buffoon one day, a mentally ill lunatic the next, and an evil genius ruining their plans the next. How people who genuinely view reality like that even tie their own shoes is a mystery sometimes.

I can understand kids rebelling against their parents fine, but baby boomers seem to be rebelling against their own children. It's like their parent's generation died of and they didn't want to stop acting like petulant teenagers, so they just continue to do it to us.
It's very weird, there's not really anything quite like a baby boomer. The silent or WW2 generation didn't do this, Xers don't do it, we millennials don't do it, even the little zoom-zooms show more humility and grace on average than their grandparents.
