Hey RW, this is mostly just an excuse to use this newly-nik'd meme from twatter. Your post seems like a bit moar, but on its surface level, the binoc's fit.
Then doesn't that make the silent generation responsible for the evils you allege of most boomers? Aren't the parents considerably responsible for how their kids turn out?
I'm pretty easily lured into a lot of the "blame boomers" arguments (as I think they make a lot of great points), but it's ultimately pretty stupid broad-brushing.
The war is against evil, and evil is spiritual in nature, and VERY deceptive. "Good, innocent" people are highly susceptible, and get dragged into/caught up in things they don't/can't anticipate will turn out the way they do. I'm GenX-viewing it from a sort of in-between demarcation point (and a self-made winner/ultimate broken victim of all society has to offer and my own enormous ambitions).
If you're gonna blame boomers for a huge swath of problems, you probably need to blame technology, generally, for twice as much. "Progress" has led to so much of the mess, and I don't think boomers had anything to do with the time they were dropped into. It all comes back to the evil, mostly-invisible forces behind the scenes. We truly don't know what we don't know about the ultimate instigators.
