Indien versorgt Millionen von Menschen mit kostengünstigen Generika – nicht nur im eigenen Land. Indien exportiert weltweit. Allerdings: Indien ist dabei abhängig von China, von wo es 70 Prozent seiner Wirkstoffe bezieht – dort ist die Produktion günstiger. Die SARS-CoV-2-Epidemie wirkt sich schon jetzt auf die Arzneimittelversorgung aus: Indien stoppt Arzneimittel-Exporte für 26 Arzneistoffe, darunter auch Paracetamol, Antibiotika wie Erythromycin, Clindamycin, Metronidazol und das Virostatikum Aciclovir. Das BfArM bleibt für Deutschland unbesorgt.
