The Meme Farmer collects memes on a "best effort" basis from General and Meme breads. These amount to a fraction of the total meme production here. MF ignores ones that don't advance the plan, as well as those that are unreadable or misspelled. No attempt is made to collect memes from breads during MF's sleep periods. (In the early days we tried to collect everything but it became impossible so now it's 'best effort' only.)

The value-add that MF adds is to categorize the collected images with human-readable (and machine-searchable) filenames so that memes can be retrieved by subject matter. MF also files the memes from general bread into the memes bread, and attempts to collect in full everything that other anons post in memes bread. Everything collected is mirrored from MF's local storage to mega meme libraries which allow anons the ability to bulk download or browse and selectively download.

The meme corps often takes on a challenge to produce a quantity of memes on a specific topic.

Add.

MF also sorts the memes into those that should remain .png, and runs an app called Trimage on them to remove unnecessary color profiles and improve compression (reduce file size). MF converts the remaining haul into .jpg

(.jpeg → .jpg, and .png → .jpg) then also runs Trimage on those to reduce filesize. All this is done after harvesting and before posting on Memes bread or uploading to mega.

Memes that are gorgeous but oversized sometimes get shrunk manually before archiving.

Those that have been compressed or resized won't match. Storing images in their original form was never in MF's charter. Q's original images are left untouched, in case they contain stego that may someday be decoded.
