Only an infinite being could experience the wrath of God against sin which results in eternal damnation for the sinner. You think He popped into hell for a long weekend and that was all it took? Only a being who possesses the attributes of omni-presence, and possibly omni-temporality could accomplish salvation. Thus only an uncreated being could do what Jesus did.
