I understand your point.

However, we are not expected to forgive everything, although that is commonly though and taught.

God also will not forgive everything and everybody. He wants us to humbly ask forgiveness and repent, ie try to better our lives.

We are expected to be inclined to forgive though.

If someone has mistreated you, forgiveness may sometimes not be possible. If the mistreatment was very bad, the person has no remorse, he does not long for forgiveness, he asks for forgiveness but does not want to compensate for what he did wrong and better his life, then it may be difficult or even impossible to forgive.

If forgiveness is impossible or you can not forgive just yet, for in severe cases it may take you years to come to the point where you are able to forgive, you must give it over into the hands of Him who judges rightiously.
