One has been going on since the early hours of this morning vast operation of the State Police, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Reggio Calabria, aimed at the execution of 65 pre-trial detention orders, of which 53 in prison is 12 under house arrest, issued against historical leaders, elements of summit is affiliates of a dangerous local of ‘Ndrangheta operating a Saint Euphemia of Aspromonte (RC) – functionally dependent on the powerful gang Alvaro prevailing in Sinopoli (RC) San Procopio (RC), Cosoleto (RC), Delianuova (RC) and neighboring areas – held responsible, for various reasons, for mafia association, various crimes relating to weapons and drugs, extortion, aiding and abetting real, private violence, violations in electoral matters, aggravated by the use of the mafia method and by the aim of facilitating theNdrangheta, as well as mafia political electoral exchange. The investigators of the Reggio Calabria Mobile Squad and of the P.S. of Palmi (RC), with the coordination of the Central Operational Service of the Central Anti-Crime Directorate of the State Police, assisted by the operators of the Crime Prevention Departments and of various Mobile Teams of Central and Northern Italy, are also carrying out numerous searches. About 600 police officers were employed.
