Coronavirus fears: Angela Merkel's handshake rejected
"German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer declined to shake German Chancellor Angela Merkel's hand on Monday during the 11th summit on integration issues in Berlin, as the coronavirus continues to spread.
Seehofer can be seen refusing Merkel's extended hand as she arrived at the summit. The German leader did not take it personally, though, as both politicians can be seen smiling afterwards.
"It is the right thing to do," she said, as she sat down, prompting guests to burst with laughter.
Robert Koch Institute, a federal agency responsible for disease control and prevention, announced cases of the coronavirus reached 157 in Germany as of Monday."
