An elementary school in Norco was evacuated as a wildfire burned through 100 acres in Norco Tuesday afternoon, triggering mandatory evacuation orders for homes in the area.

Dubbed the Mann Fire, the blaze was reported in the Santa Ana River Bottom near California Avenue at 9:41 a.m., authorities said. It remains 0% contained as of 11:20 a.m.

Cal Fire Riverside said mandatory evacuation orders are in place for those who live north of North Avenue from Crest View to California Avenue, north of 8th Street, east of Pedley Avenue and south of the river bottom.

Sky5 was overhead as students filed into buses parked outside Riverview Elementary School, which sent an email to parents stating the campus was being cleared as a “precaution.”

The message stated the children were being taken to Norco High School.
