I would agree, but we're talking about @POTUS Donald J. Trump. He's probably happy to do this every quarter just to rub it in the DS's collective faces.

A deposition is a witness's sworn out-of-court testimony. It is used to gather information as part of the discovery process and, in limited circumstances, may be used at trial. The witness being deposed is called the "deponent."
If she lies, it'll fuck her. Hard. It also means they are building quite the case against her, and it's likely it's not limited to the emails. Whatever case is being built against her will likely cover any/all topics related to what the emails have talked about.
