When you save an image, you can change the filename from .jpeg to .jpg
If you are having problems, demand (politely) to speak with the election official in your voting location. Do not leave until you are satisfied. If necessary record the conversations with your phone, you are documenting evidence. It is their job to ensure voting is done 'by the book' and you are a voter, they work for YOU.
Again when you save the image you can choose to rename the filetype, FE mujpeg.jpeg, you just change to muhjpeg.jpg

I don't think you are an idiot at all, anon, and I'm sorry if it came across that way, I didn't mean it to. I can't believe apple products don't give you (user) the option where to save a file. If you save it, don't you get the opportunity to choose where you save it and what you name it?
How could it possibly save stuff to a place where you don't know where it is or what it's named? (Rhetorical question, but an iPhone/iPad user should please! chime in)
Whew, ok, good then. I don't like or use any apple products myself, but honestly I cannot imagine making it so your user has no idea where they saved something or what it is named.
