"A CIA document dating from 1954 was uncovered. It describes a study being done to uncover the methods to make a subject “perform an act, involuntarily, of attempted assassination on a prominent [nation redacted in released document] politician or if necessary against an American official.” A combination of methods was used, always involving drugs, and when it came time to activate this “sleeper killer” it recommended that an alcoholic cocktail be used and the drug slipped in surreptitiously. The killer would begin and theoretically have no memory of the act."
