Syrian Army Finishes Its Operation In Daraa With New Reconciliation Agreement

On March 3, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) concluded its large-scale security operation in the northern Daraa countryside with a new reconciliation agreement.

The operation, which targeted the town of al-Sanamayn, was launched two days ago. The town was under the de-facto control of local radical militants, who carried out a series of attacks on SAA checkpoints and positions in northern Daraa during the last year.

Army troops stormed al-Sanamayn in the first day of the operation. However, some militants took cover in buildings within the town’s center.

A reconciliation agreement was reached within 24 hours. The vast majority of militants accepted the agreement and began handing over their weapons to Syrian authorities. However, some militants rejected the agreement and opted to withdraw to Turkish-occupied areas in northern Syria.

Army crushes terrorists in a number of villages and towns in Idleb southeastern countryside

SANA reporter said that “over the past hours, army units carried out intensive operations with artillery and missile weapons against Turkish-backed terrorist groups who were supported by fire and military from the Turkish regime on the western and southwestern direction of Saraqeb city and eliminated them from the villages and towns of Joubas, Trinbeh, Dadikh, and Kafr Batikh, west of the Aleppo- Damascus International Highway, which the terrorists had entered with direct support and a cover fire by the Turkish regime forces”.

President Assad Receives Libyan Delegation

On Monday, President Bashar al-Assad received a Libyan delegation co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Abdul-Rahman al-Ahiresh and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Abdul-Hadi al-Hawaij.

The meeting affirmed that what is taking place in Syria and Libya is the same, and that the war against terrorism isn’t the battle of two countries only, particularly as it will determine the fate of the region in the face of the projects which some states are trying to impose on it through their tools, on top Erdogan’s regime whose policies have become based on using terrorism to achieve its political interests, which is the main factor destabilizing the region as a whole.

The two sides also discussed activating bilateral cooperation in all domains, with the restoration of the diplomatic representation between the two countries as the first step, and the reactivation of relations and ties binding the two brotherly peoples in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and enhances the factors of their steadfastness in facing all of what they are exposed to.

President al-Assad issues decree setting date of parliamentary elections

President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday issued Decree No. 76 for 2020 setting Monday April 13th as the date of the parliamentary elections for selecting members of the People’s Assembly for the third legislative term.

The decree also sets the number of members at 250 divided into 127 members from the workers and farmers sector and 123 from the other groups of the population, divided among 15 electoral districts.

Turkish Combat Drones Pound Syrian Military Convoy In Greater Idlib

On March 3, the Turkish military leaked another batch of footage showing drone strikes on units of the Syrian Army in the province of Idlib. The undated footage starts with a propaganda claim about thousands of ‘killed children’ allegedly shows an attack on the Syrian Army military column near Maarat al-Numan in the southern part of Syria’s Idlib province.

A Syrian warplane hit by a missile fired by Turkish regime’s air force, downed northwest of Ma’aret al-Nu’aman

A military source said in a statement to SANA that “at 11:03 am on Tuesday, and while carrying out a mission against armed terrorist organizations in southern Idleb, a Syrian warplane was hit by a missile fired by Turkish regime’s air force as it was downed in the area, northwest of Ma’aret al-Nu’aman.”

Terrorist organizations which spread in Idleb receive a direct support from the Turkish regime with different means and weapons as this regime mainly depends on the sophisticated drones to provide a fire cover to the terrorists to be able to launch their attacks, in addition to supplying them with shoulder-fired missiles to target the Syrian and Russian warplanes.

Foreign Ministry: Syria Condemns and Rejects Turkish Aggression, Affirms Determination to Confront It

A Foreign and Expatriates Ministry official source affirmed that the Syrian Arab Republic expresses its strong condemnation and categorical rejection of the brutal Turkish aggression against Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They stated that Turkey’s actions crown the hostile behavior of Erdogan’s regime and its unlimited support to the terrorist organizations that have shed the blood of the Syrians and left destruction and sabotage behind them, as they implement his agendas and the expansionist ambitions and illusions of Erdogan’s ill imagination of reviving the defunct empire. They added that Erdogan is seeking an escape from the internal crises which have resulted from Erdogan’s wrong internal and foreign policies.

Some countries, involved in bringing terrorism to Syria, use drugs as a tool for their terrorism, says Sabbagh

"The Syrian Arab Republic is making strenuous efforts to disseminate awareness about the dangers of drugs and to build national capacities and raise the level of their rehabilitation with the aim of curbing this ever-expanding global problem.

Sabbagh stressed that some of the countries involved in bringing terrorism to Syria have used drugs as a tool of its terrorism, by targeting segments of Syrian society, especially young people, to fall into this dangerous scourge to weaken and control it and to raise the brutality of terrorist elements by relying on narcotic pills as a means to numb their minds and motivate them To commit heinous crimes against the Syrian people.

Sabbagh expressed great concern about the ability of terrorist and criminal elements to find new and various methods for smuggling narcotic drugs through owning and using modern technical means and huge financial returns resulting from the illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.

Libyan Embassy in Damascus reopened

The Libyan Embassy in Damascus was reopened on Tuesday, signaling the return of diplomatic representation between the two brotherly countries.

The reopening ceremony was attended by a Libyan delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Abdul-Rahman al-Ahiresh and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Abdul-Hadi al-Hawaij.

In a statement during the opening, Deputy Foreign and Expatiates Minister Fayssal Mikdad asserted that Syria has made a crucial decision to restore relations with the brothers in Libya because the battle in the two countries is the same as they both confront terrorism and the states that back it.

Mikdad added that Syria is open to cooperation and there can be no joint Arab action without it, expressing his hope to reopen the Syrian Embassy in Tripoli soon after its liberation by the Libyan army.

For his part, al-Hawaij affirmed that restoring normal and strategic relations and the partnership between the two countries is in the interest of the two countries.

Lavrov: Russia will continue supporting Syria in its war against terrorism

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed that his country will keep on supporting Syria in its war against terrorist organizations until terrorism is eliminated completely in the country.

During a press conference in Helsinki on Tuesday with his Finnish counterpart Pekka Haavisto, Lavrov stressed the necessity of eliminating terrorist organizations in Ideb, saying that it is unacceptable to exploit the issue of refugees at the expense of fighting terrorism in Syria, and that the solution of this issue should be by implementing the Sochi agreements on Idleb.

He said that Russia participated in the battle against terrorism in Syria as per the request of the Syrian government, adding that some Western states support the terrorists and use them as a tool to achieve geopolitical agendas.

CIA has been hacking China for 11 YEARS, says Chinese cybersecurity firm citing Vault 7 leak

US spies have been hacking into Chinese aviation, energy, internet and even government sectors for more than a decade, Beijing-based cybersecurity firm Qihoo 360 said after a probe based on ‘Vault7’ tools published by WikiLeaks.

Coming from a major and reputable Chinese cybersecurity vendor, the accusations – made public on Monday on the company’s blog, in both English and Chinese – carry extra weight. According to Qihoo, a group of hackers designated APT-C-39 has been confirmed as coming from the US Central Intelligence Agency.

Qihoo 360 data have shown that the cyber-weapons used by the organization and the cyber weapons described in the CIA Vault 7 project are almost identical.
