optics, sessions was on potus transition team, barely was confirmed by senate, potus needed to give narrative that he did not support sessions, so they would ignore him basically.
DS was happy when he recused from Mureller oversight, as they wanted, and was off the radar and then appointed Huber, Durham, launched investigation of Epstein and got a ton of stuff done.
Potus did not endorse Sessions in this round because it doesnt matter, but i bet that he will endorse in the future because Potus will ensure he wins with his support.
Sessions was an early stealth bomber. Potus needed Sessions to be viewed as impartial because he launched alot of the meaningful investigations that are coming to fruition. He did this by criticizing him and pretending that Sessions WAS NOT doing what Potus wanted him to do….mission accomplished there.
