Joe Biden on Trump: ‘I Can Hardly, Hardly Wait to Debate Him

Thursday on NBC’s “Today,” 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful former Vice President Joe Biden took aim at President Donald Trump, saying he can “hardly wait to debate” the president should he go on to win the Democratic presidential nomination.

NBC’s Savannah Guthrie asked Biden why he thinks Trump is calling out the Democratic Party for rigging the system against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Biden said Trump “has done everything in his power,” including risk his presidency because he is scared to face him.

“I think the one thing the president doesn’t want to do from the very beginning is face me because I will beat him, period. Period,” Biden emphasized. “He has done everything in his power — he’s even risked his presidency because he doesn’t want to face me. It’s simple.”

He continued, “The president does not want me to be the nominee. For good reason, I suppose.”

Biden said he could not wait to point out how much of a “disaster” Trump has been during debates,

“Donald Trump has pummeled the middle class, has embraced dictators, and poked his thumb in the eye of our allies. Donald Trump is a disaster,” Joe Biden told Guthrie. “He knows it, and he knows I’m going to be able to point it out. I can hardly, hardly wait to debate him.”

DOJ: U. of Tennessee Professor Concealed Ties to China to Defraud NASA

A professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville has been arrested for allegedly concealing his ties with a Chinese university, and engaging in wire fraud. According to the DOJ, he conspired with China to defraud NASA to get federal funding.

University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) associate professor and researcher Anming Hu has been arrested for allegedly concealing his affiliation with Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) in China, and illegally receiving federal funding, according to a press release by the United States Department of Justice.

The professor — who worked in UTK’s Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering — has been charged with three counts of wire fraud and three counts of making false statements. Hu has also since been suspended from the university.

“Hu engaged in a scheme to defraud the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) by concealing his affiliation with Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) in China,” reads the DOJ press release. “Federal law prohibits NASA from using federally appropriated funds on projects in collaboration with China or Chinese universities.”

According to the DOJ, Hu had made “false representations and omissions to UTK about his affiliation with BJUT caused UTK to falsely certify to NASA that UTK was in compliance with federal law.”

“The United States Attorney’s Office takes seriously fraudulent conduct that is devised to undermine federally-mandated funding restrictions related to China and Chinese universities,” said U.S. Attorney J. Douglas Overbey for the Eastern District of Tennessee. “The University of Tennessee has cooperated with the investigation, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office values the university’s assistance in this matter.”

Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers added that Hu had “allegedly committed fraud by hiding his relationship with a Chinese university while receiving funding from NASA.”

Iranian State Media: Joe Biden Is ‘Feeble-Minded’ and ‘Incoherent

Wait wut! The real winner was Donald Trump. thats pretty bad when Iran is afraid of Biden in charge of anything

Iran’s state-run PressTV was not terribly impressed by former Vice President Joe Biden’s comeback in the Super Tuesday Democrat primaries.

According to the Iranian media outlet, the “real winner” on Super Tuesday was incumbent Republican President Donald Trump, because he will probably get to run against the “feeble-minded, incoherent neoliberal” 77-year-old Biden instead of the relatively spry 78-year-old socialist Bernie Sanders

PressTV rendered this cold-shower verdict on Super Tuesday by extensively quoting “political analyst Myles Hoenig,” who it did not bother mentioning is a former Green Party politician who ran for Congress in 2016:

Trump won Super Tuesday. In a surprising election outcome Joe Biden had handed Donald Trump and the American people four more years of the kind of insanity coming from the White House that so many had hoped to put an end to,” he told Press TV on Wednesday. “Democrats had voted to replace a psychologically disturbed president with one who is feeble minded, incoherent and with a history of neo-liberal policies ranging from racism by supporting increase incarceration of people of color to anti-unionism with support of the Trans Pacific Partnership, and everything in between.”

Hoenig further indicated that Biden’s victory amounted to “a drawback to some of the most regressive times in American history.”

“Generations of voters who supported Sanders are likely not to vote or will come out in small numbers,” he said. “If Senator Sanders had swept Super Tuesday, there still was a likelihood of a brokered convention.”

Despite Biden’s victory, the number of pledged delegates will remain “somewhat evenly split” between him and Sanders, the political analyst noted, predicting a “divisive period” in the future of the races.

“There are many more states to go and more delegates to be distributed, but Tuesday’s election set the stage for a very divisive period.”

The Iranian media outlet greatly enjoyed an encounter between Biden and a pair of Iraq War veterans who thought he was “disqualified” from running for the presidency because he voted in support of the war during his tenure as a senator.

“We’re just wondering why we should vote for someone who voted for a war and enabled a war that killed thousands of our brothers and sisters and countless Iraqi civilians. Their blood is on your hands as well,” one of them said.

PressTV carefully avoided mentioning that a great deal of that American blood was shed by Iranian weapons brought into Iraq by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the former leader of its Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, who retired from his position in January 2020 after an American airstrike killed him.

Hillary: ‘People Know’ Biden ‘Is a Deeply Indecent Person

On Wednesday’s broadcast of NBC’s “Tonight Show,” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden has resonated with voters because “people know he is a deeply decent person. He is a kind person.”

Clinton said of Super Tuesday, “I thought it was very exciting. Because, starting in South Carolina, he had so much energy and what he had to say was really enthusiastic and positive and about what he was going to do and who he was, and the people of South Carolina, obviously, rewarded that. And then, that kind of set off this momentum. And it carried him, he won all but, I guess, three states.”
