Pope says anyone who wants to build a wall to keep out Coronavirus is ‘not Christian’

VATICAN CITY (A-CNN) —Pope Francis told the few homeless folks gathered at his Wednesday Audience that fear of the Corona virus is “making us crazy.”
“I’m a bridgebuilder, obviously,” and building walls to keep deadly viruses out of your man-made geographical boundaries is “rigid” and “pharisaical.”
“Jesus does not speak of quarantines which, not unlike walls, are not even in the Gospel,” he said, “that’s why he built his church not only on a rock but also a bridge, i.e., @pontifex.”
Francis said we must always welcome "the other" across the bridges we "help to build." And to those already infected with the virus in Northern Italy, "Amen, amen I say to you: you have nothing to fear but fear itself.” (Inspired words indeed!)
The pontiff concluded his audience with a few words about Donald Trump’s quarantine policies, which he called “cruel failures to build bridges over troubled waters.”
“When you're weary, feeling small. When tears are in your eyes, quarantines will not dry them all. Travel bans are not on your side, when times get rough and friends just can't be found. We need to build bridges over this troubled water.”
