Gonna try again this thread.
So I was in an argument with a friend regarding pic related - claims that when Trump said he "reversed an Obama admin decision" that was detrimental to operations regarding Coronavirus and tests he was lying his ass off.
Well I did my due diligence looking for specifics, I looked for articles on sites not immediately calling him a liar, found the Feb. 29 publish of the new FDA regulation, looked at the FD&C act referenced in Azar's declaration of public health emergency, combed the Whitehouse.gov transcripts for specifics… I cannot for the life of me find what regulation Trump reversed. I see claims from Pence they changed regulations, it is obvious from context that something was slowing up test development and the FDA relaxed or changed a certain regulation on Feb. 29, but I can't find the regulation that was causing the issue.
What I found is:
Coronavirus in China Public Health Emergency declared by HHS > CDC creates and distributes first test with faulty reagents > FDA changes regulations so certain certified labs at the state level can conduct their own testing and apply for EUA (Emergency Use Approval) after the fact
What regulation did Trump change that was causing issues?
