As Iran continues to combat the rapidly spreading coronavirus, particularly within the government regime, one of their high-ranking officials died on Monday. Seyed Mohammad Mir-Mohammadi, who served on a council that advises the supreme leader, died after contracting CoVid-19.
Second, to China, Iran has experienced the most recorded deaths and cases in the world. Furthermore, it’s believed that the number of casualties due to the virus is being significantly underreported. There have been several other high-ranking officials that have tested positive as well, such as their Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi, and as of last week, their Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Masoum eh Ebtekar.
The Iranian regime is facing some serious concerns because all of these officials have been in close proximity to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Additionally, five other lawmakers have tested positive.
