I wouldn't be surprised if Joe made the deal in exchange for her protecting Hunter. Just a motive thought to contribute.

The thinking would be:

1. Biden gets the nom, brings on HRC as VP hopeful.

2. They win (this would be their plan, which we know wouldn't happen, but for the sake of the theory…)

3. Biden steps down because of muh dementia.

4. HRC is pres ala 25th amendment.

5. HRC uses her presidential powers (either pardon, or her favorite- under the table deals) to get Hunter out of hot water.

Just a theory about what would motivate Biden to possibly bring on HRC if he does.
