Re: Railroad Digg

There are two Vanderbilt gold mines. One in Arizona and one in California on opposite sides of the Colorado River. One of them was also called Boomerang.

The town of Vanderbilt California used to be on the railroad. The Vanderbilts owned the Gold dome mill which was in operation up until the 1990s. I think Obama made it a national monument? It's also been designated as a superfund site.

this is interesting. I found this article from the Daily Miner newspaper in Prescott AZ from the 1890's. W. W. Vanderbilt was a local resident who operated mines. One of the mines was called the Bob Ingersoll mine. Bob Ingersoll was a famous Atheist at the time. The article says the mine was just a stones throw from Prescott. It looks like he was rubbing elbows with Morris Goldwater.

I've been reading through all the old Miner Journals about the Vanderbilt's and the mines here in Arizona and they owned a lot of them. It looks like W.W. (Billy) Vanderbilt was in charge of the mining operation and was a Prescott Politician and Oscar Vanderbilt ran the Prescott & Arizona central Railroad. I can link to some of the articles in newspaper.com but you can't access them without a subscription. It seems like WW Vanderbilt started out in Chino Valley, AZ and later moved to Prescott. At one time they were both residents of Prescott. I'm beginning to think the reason the Vanderbilt's frequented the resort at Castle Hot Springs is because they owned it. I came across an article that said hot water was discovered at one of their mines south of Prescott. Castle hot springs is south of Prescott.

I often wonder what the hell Hunter Biden was doing in Prescott? He was so close to John McCain's headquarters which sits right on top of the old tunnel system that ran from the railroad station to Whiskey Row at the town square.
