Do you understand Falun Gong and, based on a detailed analysis of their beliefs and practices, you judge them to be evil? Or are you merely voicing prejudice against something with which you are unacquainted and uninformed?
If the latter, you should ask yourself whether you wish to exhibit the ignorance of the seventeenth century witchfinder in such matters. Something is not necessarily evil, or to be associated with demonstrably evil entities, merely because it is unfamiliar.
Members of Falun Gong have been brutally persecuted and murdered by the CCP for 20+ years. The CCP is demonstrably evil. Might we not be more charitable and seek to understand, rather than condemn, Falun Gong?
The Epoch Times is a very fine newspaper. If you can identify something better of its kind being produced in English today, I’d like to know what that is. I’m not aware of any such periodical.
You might also consider that The Washington Times - also a fine and conservative newspaper - was founded by the Moonies, a group that neither of us is about to rush out and join!
If I could find a newspaper in English produced by a writing and editorial staff of Orthodox Christians, I’d settle for that. But until that day comes, I’ll read newspapers produced by people that share many of my political leanings, even if there are substantial areas in which they and I would disagree, perhaps profoundly. I will not throw over the good while waiting for the perfect.
As with all things, discernment is needed. But acceptance with discernment is better than rejection without reasonable justification.
