Visit the Flint Hills of eastern Kansas (trust Kansas?) , think 'Kansas ditch weed'. The stuff has been growing wild forever. They 'can't' eradicate it. I've seen plants that were years old with trunks like small trees, standing 20' high (not high). It grows!
