LB somebody yelled at anon for posting a meme made elsewhere. They thought the style was too "professional".
Yet anon collects and posts memes, hundreds and thousands of memes, made by all kinds of people.
Is the meme EFFECTIVE?
Is the message TRUE?
It doesn't have to be a meme that rings YOUR CHIMES; it may be intended for a different set of viewers.
What have we learned about memes?
There is no such thing as a universal meme that reaches everybody equally.
So we ask, does it present an idea from the point of view of a specific TARGET AUDIENCE, like marketers do, instead of insulting folks?
Perhaps it go viral. Is it funny? Wry? Sarcastic? Surprising? Emotional? Beautiful? Elevating? Memorable? Evocative? Suggestive?
Don't just hate on memes unless they are totally counterproductive (even then – best tactic may be to ignore that poster). If you have a better idea, meme it. If you can help a memefag with suggestions for improvement, memefags are open to suggestion.
