When we talk about the bible we have to make one thing clear. The Old Testament is about a story that has nothing to do with us and our ancestors. Our ancestors, wherever they came from, had their own religion. In Europe for example there were Teutons and Celts. They believed in a God who died every year and then was born again. For our ancestors, this was clearly in accordance with nature. But then a new religion was introduced by force, against the Cathars. They were Christians, but not as the new church wanted them to be. Thousands had to die. But why? it was in the sense of the rulers to establish a religion that had no connection with the local world of faith. And they have achieved this, until today. Many will not know that Jesus is a prophet in the Koran. He is the prophet before Mohamed and his mother, Mary, has her own sura in the Koran. Why? Islam is an ancient Christian religion. The roots of Islam are Christian. There was a movement in ancient times called Arianism. They believed in Jesus, but not as part of God, but as a prophet. Here we have the origin of Islam. The Cathars had the same ideas and had to die.
So when we talk about religion we should keep it in mind.
