>God is a person?

>That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, frankly.

Makes perfect sense when you consider God made us in His image. Not physically. We have the personhood and mind to relate and commune with Him. We don’t personify God. We are persons because He made us like Him.

I didn’t make a threat. I foreshadowed. Finding God, personally, not at the word of others, is a gift. Not something threatened.

You don’t have to come to me about this. You can go to Him. He is active and present. You don’t need a middleman to Him.

Non sarcastically, He is omnipresent and omniscient. He can hear you express yourself to Him however you choose to. Slang, language, references, and all.

Go to Him with genuine intentions and He will be there. If you ACTUALLY want to know Him, He is here and available.

Christ is God in the flesh. Not a middleman. The source, who made Himself approachable.

Requiring the Bible (albeit valuable & true) or a priest to find God is NOT a Christian or Biblical idea, although people love to try to make it one.

If you really want to find God, reach out to Him earnestly for yourself. He can convince you better than anything or anyone else.

We are creations, not the creator. We are grafted into Him because He loves us.

We are His runaway children He is calling Home. We can freely and warmly return. He is not our enemy unless we declare ourselves His enemy. He is our father, who loves each of us individually more than any of us can love our own children.

Erase the propaganda from your mind. Seek the living and real God of reality. Let Him show you who He is.

You’re not wrong. Don’t go to someone asking money from you. God is free and available without the go-between of a guy who says he heard Him. Nobody has a monopoly on Gods communication. He wants to speak to YOU, not through a whisper down the lane game.

God made a covenant with Abraham to set the foundation for His coming as Christ. He required strict practices of “cleansing” their sin to communicate with them, which was specific to the Jews.

Christ then sacrificed Himself to cleanse EVERYONE of their sins, meaning He could be approached by anyone freely, not just Jews following specific protocols.

He had to work with the Jews to execute His plan of salvation. Christ fulfilled that.

Because God and His heaven are perfect. I am not. I require intercession to fit in a perfect place.

I am not trying to infantilize you not spread propaganda. I am trying to empower you to go directly to the source as someone made worthy and perfectly capable of finding the answers individually.

If you’d like to continue arguing here, rather than go to the source, that seems to indicate you’re more interested in expressing contempt than seeking truth.

I’ve given you something falsifiable and experiential to work with. Approach God with honest, non-cynical, intentions and He will be there. He is alive and communicative, and you CAN know Him PERSONALLY.

Proceed or don’t. I wish you the best.

He paid off a debt only He was capable of paying off so that we weren’t screwed by our own immoral behavior during a just accounting of our lives. The Old Testament is not a joke. It is a history and the the foundation of how God made salvation possible.

Make your own covenant, indeed! I urge you to do exactly that. Disbelieve all of this. But reach out to your creator YOURSELF and let Him show you who He is.

He gave us the free will to reject His nature. We were free to behave contrary to the image of God we were made in. However, that image was morally perfect, and freely choosing to act antithetically means doing that which is immoral. God is perfectly just, and therefore must pass judgement on the immorality we are guilty of perpetrating. That is the debt we rack up.

But God is also merciful and loving, and despite this debt, wants to offer forgiveness to us anyway. If you think it’s unfair that you racked this debt up, that’s okay. The good news is that God has offered a comparably “unfair” (by this way of thinking) way to be completely free of that debt just by asking Him to forgive it.

I believe in the God I know personally. He happens to be the same God the authors of those stories knew and the same God who once joined us in human form as Jesus.

But don’t believe me about that. Ask God who He is, and believe Him. Dismiss me as brainwashed or ignorant or foolish, I don’t care. You don’t have to trust or listen to me. I’m only interested in directing you to reach out to the God who created you and asking Him to reveal His identity to you. It matters who God says He is. Not who a random anon claims He is. Ask Him, not me.

Yes. I personally think it’s MUCH wiser to seek God directly and personally. I believe the Bible is only really valuable if you already believe in and are convinced of it being written by and about the same God you know exists, personally.

The Bible is not God. I 100% agree with the sentiment of seeking God first and letting Him guide you to the rest personally.

Because we have free will, which God honors. He doesn’t hold us hostage in heaven. If you freely choose to do something that is immoral, you must freely choose to ask forgiveness. He is not kidnapping those who don’t seek unity with Him. He is making Himself available for us to return to if that’s what we want.

If you want to, ask. If you don’t, don’t. Feel free to keep expressing your contempt. But it’s simple and free to just ask for forgiveness and be granted it. Worry about the rest later, If that’s what you want. If you don’t want reconciliation with God, carry on. God has given you the right to separate yourself from Him.

Then you’re either demonizing the OT depiction or romanticizing Jesus. OT God forgave, laughed, blessed, and rejoiced. Jesus claimed He would cause division, passed judgement, and spoke of hell.

God is a mix of judgement and mercy all the way through

Anon, I understand stand your criticism. I have repeated myself that you should dismiss me and seek for yourself. Either proceed, if you wish to explore a truth claim, or do not. I am not claiming to be able or desiring of convincing you. No need to argue with me, when I’ve already said I am not the avenue to truth. God Himself alone will be able to provide that to you.
